Clos du Cadillac 2011

Clos du Cadillac 2011

£12.50

Blend: Semillon 100%

Tasting Notes:

What an option this is if Sauternes doesn't work on price. Our go to Sweet Wine during the tasting events we held over the Christmas of 2017. Options in full bottle and half this Cadillac (sweet appellation opposite Cerons and Barsac, separated by the Garonne River) is wonderfully sweet yet not cloying. Apricot, honey and fresh marmalade characters on the palate.

Reviews:

The lesser years for Red Wine in Bordeaux (07,11,13 etc) have thankfully been good years for sweet wines. Clos means 'walled garden' and the grapes that make this wine come entirely from the walled orchard of Chateau du Cadillad. Almost 'micro-climate' conditions give wonderful sweetness but critically excellent balance with acidity levels.
