Chateau La Brande is an excellent illustration of exactly why the Castillon appellation is growing in both stature and popularity. Offering much of what is great about St Emilion, but with its own distinct earthy qualities and excellent value, this is an appellation to keep a close eye on.
Deep ruby in colour, the Chateau La Brande has a pronounced nose of rich red fruit and subtle oak. On the palate it is dry with ripe blackberry flavours, soft medium tannin and good complexity. This is complemented by the partial oaking to give an excellent value Right Bank Bordeaux.
